Slow down pull over
Let it out it’s trying to re-member
How it formed the fist of its caretaker
It’s place as a superior pretender
Now it sticks out like a sore loser
Cause it lost out on being a proper contributor
It doubts it can handle loose change
It counts if we keep within it’s range
Now the doctors say I should amputate but it’s my thumb
And my wife she says she can’t take me anywhere without my thumb
I’ll have a hard time tapping out a 5/4 beat without my thumb
I sit around twiddling absolutely nothing without my thumb
It’d type it out but there’s a spot in its vision
Which coincides with a mark of derision
It wants to hide but it can’t grab the curtain
And by its side conjoined dissociation
Where did it go?
It didn’t act like this back in it’s day
It could at least phone
It doesn’t have to end this way
I guess this is just how we end up losing shit like thumbs
Sort of thought it’d find it’s way back to me but it’s just a thumb
I’ll have a hard time unlocking those smart things without my thumb
I sit around twiddling my normal fingers without my thumb

Every one of Steam Powered Giraffe's tracks is better than the last. And if you've listened to some of their good hits, you know that's saying a lot. b_megamaths

I can't think of anything more consistently comforting during these trying times than Steam Powered Griaffe's music.

There's a lot of great tracks that I've definitely played over and over on YouTube here, and a lot I've yet to really sink my teeth into. I fully reserve the right to change my mind after listening to this one in full a few times, but for now, I know that Fire Fire's grim, fatalist tone/lyrics and haunting harmonies have long been a favourite of mine. nazmazh
