The experts all agree
They don’t know how the electric sea came to be
Perhaps a tear in a pocket dimension
Perhaps an overreliance on nuclear energy
Whatever the case there it is
Blinding the young who refuse to stop staring at it
Don’t worry about them we can teach them to echolocate
But for now let’s try and stay on topic
Sail away with me
To the electric sea
We’ll hitch a ride on a nonconductive ferry
Lather up in cream that deflects the current sea
My best friend told me she’s been to the bottom
And it charged all of her devices absolutely free
I find the glow alluring but that ominous hum disturbs me
I’d write this song if I can cross the electric sea
Whatever the case I hope it never quits
Being an ocean electric
It is almost absolutely perfect
If only it didn’t blind all those dumb ass kids
Sail over me
For I am underneath the electric sea
If you could have seen what I’ve seen
You’d be as blind as those stupid kids

Every one of Steam Powered Giraffe's tracks is better than the last. And if you've listened to some of their good hits, you know that's saying a lot. b_megamaths

I can't think of anything more consistently comforting during these trying times than Steam Powered Griaffe's music.

There's a lot of great tracks that I've definitely played over and over on YouTube here, and a lot I've yet to really sink my teeth into. I fully reserve the right to change my mind after listening to this one in full a few times, but for now, I know that Fire Fire's grim, fatalist tone/lyrics and haunting harmonies have long been a favourite of mine. nazmazh
